ADHD Evaluation & Medication Management
Careful psychiatric evaluation for children, teens, college students, and young adults
Attention concerns can affect learning, work, relationships, routines, and confidence. A psychiatric evaluation considers current concerns alongside development, medical and medication history, sleep, emotional health, family context, and school or work functioning before recommendations are made.
HOW EVALUATION WORKS
1. Clarify goals and the difficulties affecting daily life.
2. Review developmental, medical, medication, family, school, and work context.
3. Discuss an individualized plan and appropriate next steps.
MEDICATION DECISIONS
Medication is not assumed. When medication may be clinically appropriate, potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and monitoring are discussed carefully.
SCHOOL & COLLEGE CONTEXT
Psychiatric evaluation and documentation may support accommodation discussions when clinically appropriate. Formal neuropsychological or educational testing is not implied and may require a separate specialist.
INTEGRATED & COLLABORATIVE CARE
Care can consider psychotherapy, routines, organizational strategies, family support, and medication together. With appropriate permission, Dr. Dębiec can collaborate with existing therapists, schools, or other clinicians when that coordination supports the plan.

How Care Can Help
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
A detailed evaluation considers symptoms, development, medical and medication history, family context, school or college functioning, strengths, and goals before a treatment plan is recommended.
Second opinions & medication review
For diagnostic uncertainty, medication concerns, side effects, or a complex treatment history, a focused review can clarify options and coordinated next steps without assuming that medications should be started, changed, or stopped.
Thoughtful medication management
Medication decisions are made carefully and revisited over time, alongside psychotherapy, development, family and school context, and lifestyle factors.
Integrated psychotherapy
Psychotherapy can be integrated with psychiatric care so emotional patterns, relationships, transitions, and treatment goals are considered in one coordinated plan.
Family & parent collaboration
When clinically appropriate, care can include work with parents or family members to improve understanding, communication, and support for a child or young adult.
Existing-therapist collaboration
Already have a therapist? With patient or parent permission, psychiatric care can complement existing therapy and support a coordinated plan.
School & college context
Evaluation and ongoing care can consider school or college functioning, transitions, attention, and the practical demands affecting treatment.
Accommodation-support documentation
Psychiatric evaluation and documentation may support accommodation discussions when clinically appropriate. Formal neuropsychological or educational testing is not implied and may require a separate specialist.
Collaboration with schools & care teams
With appropriate authorization, care can include collaboration with schools, therapists, pediatricians, and other clinicians when that coordination supports the treatment plan.
