JACEK DEBIEC, MD, PhD
Psychiatry, psychotherapy
and emotional neuroscience.
My clinical work is informed by child and adolescent psychiatry training and an academic research background in emotion, development and neuroplasticity.
Research informs the questions I ask; it does not guarantee an individual treatment outcome.
WHEN A REFERRAL MAY HELP
Begin with the clinical question.
Evaluation & second opinions
For diagnostic uncertainty, overlapping symptoms or a treatment question that would benefit from comprehensive psychiatric review.
Children, adolescents & families
Developmental, emotional, behavioral, attention or school concerns, considered alongside the needs of both children and parents. Examples include anxiety, autism and other neurodevelopmental concerns, OCD, mood difficulties, and emotional regulation.
Integrated psychiatric care
I personally provide psychiatric treatment and psychotherapy. Medication, practical skills and lifestyle considerations are individualized.
The practice focuses on younger patients and also welcomes adults and older adults with appropriate anxiety, mood or life-transition concerns. Individualized medication review or supervised tapering may also be considered when appropriate.
COLLABORATION BY AGREEMENT
Understand the person.
Clarify the roles.
My evaluation considers biological, psychological, developmental, family, social and cultural factors, alongside emotional needs, coping patterns and personal values.
When appropriate and authorized, I coordinate with existing treating clinicians. We clarify the proposed role, information sharing and follow-up responsibilities; patients may continue with their existing therapist.
Ask about fit
Use the Contact page or call with a brief, non-sensitive description of the referral question.
Arrange information sharing
Agree on the appropriate channel and necessary patient or guardian authorization before sending records.
Clarify next steps
Discuss the assessment or treatment role and practical arrangements before paid care is scheduled.
Outpatient care, with clear boundaries.
This practice is not intended for emergencies, intensive monitoring or patients who need a higher level of psychiatric care. A referral does not confirm acceptance, appointment availability or a treatment relationship.
Start with a conversation.
Please do not send patient records, identifying clinical details or urgent concerns through the public form.
