HOW EVALUATION TAKES SHAPE
What would you
like to understand?
We begin with what has been difficult, how it affects daily life, and what you hope to understand. Your strengths, questions, and priorities help shape the conversation.
Questions may involve anxiety, mood, OCD, autism or other developmental concerns, attention, trauma, or several overlapping difficulties.
CONNECT THE PIECES
The wider context
matters.
I consider symptoms and possible contributors, medical and treatment history, developmental stage, and psychological and emotional needs.
Relationships, coping patterns, social circumstances, cultural context, and personal values are also part of understanding the person seeking care. Spiritual beliefs and practices are considered when relevant to you.
MAKE SENSE OF THE FINDINGS
Understanding to guide
the next step.
We discuss clinical impressions, uncertainties, and options in relation to your needs and goals. A diagnosis may be part of the explanation; recommendations draw on the fuller picture.
Further records, collaboration, or a separate assessment may sometimes be useful. An evaluation does not automatically mean starting medication or transferring treatment.
SECOND OPINIONS
When a second opinion may help.
A second opinion may help when the diagnosis is uncertain, symptoms overlap, treatment has not helped as expected, or you have questions about a current plan. It does not require transferring ongoing care.
A fresh assessment does not promise a different diagnosis or a change in treatment.
With appropriate authorization, previous records and perspectives from treating professionals can inform the review. We clarify recommendations and who is responsible for follow-up before any treatment change.
THE INITIAL EVALUATION
Up to two hours.
The listed initial evaluation fee is $600 for up to two hours. Confirm the current fee, format, and duration before scheduling. Records, further visits, or a separate assessment may sometimes be needed; additional arrangements are discussed individually.
UNDERSTANDING THE SCOPE
Assessment and testing
serve different purposes.
A psychiatric evaluation is different from a formal neuropsychological, psychoeducational, or learning-disability testing battery. Specific testing needs may require a separate qualified specialist.
Your main questions, a current medication list, previous evaluations, and relevant treatment records may be useful. We can discuss what to bring and how to share it. Please do not send detailed records through the website inquiry form.
BEGIN WITH A QUESTION

We can discuss what you are looking for and whether the practice may be a good fit.
