Medication management & review.

Medication can be a valuable part of psychiatric care. I consider whether it is appropriate in light of your health, previous treatment, daily life, and what matters to you.

A SHARED DECISION BEGINS WITH UNDERSTANDING

What fits
your needs?

Your experience, preferences, concerns, and questions belong in the decision. We discuss the options together after a careful assessment.

What could it help?

We consider the potential benefit for the concerns and daily difficulties treatment is intended to address.

What are the trade-offs?

We discuss possible risks, side effects, and relevant health factors, alongside the potential benefits.

What other options fit?

Psychotherapy, practical skills, healthy lifestyle changes, or a combination may be part of the plan. Medication is considered individually.

Prescribing follows clinical assessment. A consultation or evaluation does not guarantee a prescription.

THE FULLER PICTURE

Care includes more
than a prescription.

I personally provide psychotherapy and psychiatric treatment. Emotional needs, relationships, healthy lifestyle, and practical cognitive and behavioral skills can all be important treatment considerations.

The combination of care is shaped around your circumstances. Some people may benefit from medication; others may need a different approach.

A PLAN THAT IS REVISITED

Follow-up, benefits & side effects.

Follow-up considers benefit, tolerability, daily functioning, and changes in your health or circumstances. Your experience helps us decide whether to continue or adapt the plan.

We agree on follow-up and monitoring according to clinical needs. Visit frequency and length are individualized, and the plan is reviewed over time.

WHEN CLINICALLY APPROPRIATE

A carefully
supervised taper.

I can support medication reduction or tapering when clinically appropriate, with an individualized plan and follow-up. We consider the reasons for a change, potential withdrawal effects, and the possibility that symptoms may return.

Medication review and supervised tapering may be considered for children, young people, adults, and older adults when this practice is an appropriate fit.

Continuing medication may be the appropriate choice. A review does not presume that a prescription should be stopped or reduced.

Please discuss any medication change with your prescriber before changing or stopping treatment.

BRING YOUR QUESTIONS

Let’s consider
the options together.

Questions about an existing treatment plan, side effects, or diagnostic understanding may be reasons to begin with evaluation or a second opinion.

Free 15-minute introduction by phone or video. Not an evaluation or treatment appointment. A request is not a confirmed appointment.

Private-pay, out-of-network care. Review fees before choosing paid care.

  • Medication care can complement ongoing psychotherapy. With appropriate authorization, I can coordinate with your therapist or prescriber. We clarify clinical responsibilities and follow-up before making changes to an existing plan.
